A clearly-defined mobile use policy is an important step to securing mobile cloud security for businesses according to a recent report from the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). They recently published their guide that focuses on the important aspects of enterprise cloud computing and makes a few recommendations. And an employee mobility use policy is one of their top recommendations.
The CSA updated its Cloud Control matrix and it includes best practice tips for making sure your cloud solution is secure. The recommendation for monitoring employee mobility includes listing the policy on what devices to use how devices are secured, what information it stores and deciding what data to make available on mobile devices.
Bring your own device (BYOD) is not even a trend anymore. It is just the way people work. So monitoring employee mobility and giving them the tools they need to work securely and efficiently from a mobile device is more important than ever in order to stay competitive.
Most complications with cloud mobility start when employees use mobile applications and other resources to do their jobs. Companies that don’t implement a mobile policy increase the risk of legal or financial trouble when employees begin to use rogue cloud and mobility solutions. The best way to protect itself is for a company to issue a clearly defined policy on employee mobility.
